Mary Kay Celebrates 50th Anniversary

The beauty company celebrated a milestone anniversary.

September 13th, 2013 marked the 50th anniversary of Mary Kay’s founding day.

The brand was founded in 1963, in Dallas, Texas. It began in a 500 sq. ft. storefront with five beauty products on a shelf – and nine Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants.

Now, Mary Kay Inc. has more than 200 products that are sold in 37 countries around the world by 3 million Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants.

To celebrate its milestone, more than 100 pink Cadillacs were at the Dallas Arts District in front of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, then traveled up the Dallas North Tollway via police escort to the Mary Kay global headquarters, to spell out a commemorative message in tribute to the company’s golden anniversary.

“Our 50th anniversary has been a record-setting year for our company,” said David Holl, president/ CEO, Mary Kay Inc. “Women of all backgrounds and ages continue to turn to Mary Kay for the products they love and trust as well as the unparalleled opportunity.”
